Live/Work Artist-In-Residence Program
Winter – Spring - Summer 2021
A B O U T T H E R E S I D E N C Y :
The {/} () {/} ∆ ‡ | () {/} Artist-In-Residence program is a live/work engagement with {/} () {/} ∆ ‡ | () {/} Tangential Unpace Art Lab. Artists-in-residence will work on their proposed project, have at least 4 exhibitions of their work, engage with the spirit of the space.
{/} () {/} ∆ ‡ | () {/} Tangential Unspace Lab questions and explores the notions and histories of origin as it relates to arbitrary delineations in geography. The space is a home for Performance Art and art practices that are uncontainable by familiar logic or expectations. We care deeply for the possible, (re)imagined, excavated, obliterated, unarticulated modes of (un)existence as well as how the inertia of history is shaped by subtlety.
S E S S I O N:
*Residency sessions are usually last 3 to 6 months but due to COVID-19, and to create a safer/steadier contact group, we are are open to talk about merging sessions, flexible session start and end and to hear you out .

A C O M O D A T I O N S
A N D E Q U I P M E N T :
Each artist-in-residence will have access to their own private studio to live/work, as well as the {/} () {/} ∆ ‡ | () {/} gallery for larger workspace.
{/} () {/} ∆ ‡ | () {/} woodshop tools and film/video/sound equipment are shared.
C O S T O F R E S I D E N C Y :
- We offer different size studios ranging from $590 to $1250 dollars per month
- The monthly residency fee is due on the 1st day of every month
- Fee for the first and last month of the residency will be due 2 weeks before the first day of your residency session
- Residency fee includes all utilities and Internet
Y O U A R E E X P E C T E D T O :
- Pay the cost for the first and last month of the residency before moving in
- Pay monthly fee on time
- Move out at end your residency cycle.
- Help clean all areas of the house and pick up after yourself
- Participate in critiques
- Participate in at least two exhibitions curated by {/} () {/} ∆ ‡ | () {/}
- Attend and/or propose lectures, presentations and workshops
- Support events held at {/} () {/} ∆ ‡ | () {/} which may include: working the door, documentation, setup, and cleanup or just be present
- Clean thoroughly after yourself when working in the common areas and return your working materials to your studio/room when you are done for the day
- Respect each other and our communal living space

- Engage in critique once every 2 months
- Share each other’s work in progress
- Generate notes/responses on each other’s work
- Create a reading group
- Invite other artists to give workshops, lectures and presentations
- Have a weekly film screening series
