Andrew Choate's books include Learning, Language Makes Plastic of the Body, Stingray Clapping, and Too Many Times I See Every Thing Just the Way It Is. As a passionate admirer of bollards - the concrete and steel posts that protect buildings, equipment, and people from moving vehicles - Choate adopts the persona of Saint Bollard, performing with and photographing these ubiquitous objects (IG @saintbollard), leading Slate to call him “the world’s foremost bollard photographer.” He curates a concert series dedicated to the international world of improvised and otherwise music in Los Angeles under the name The Unwrinkled Ear.
Dave Rempis is a saxophonist and organizer active in Chicago and beyond for more than two decades. He works primarily in the jazz and improvised music scene, and tours regularly with bands including the Rempis Percussion Quartet, Ballister, and Kuzu. He's curated a weekly series of Improvised Music at Elastic Arts in Chicago since 2002, and has served as their Board President since 2015. Rempis also runs Aerophonic Records, and works as Operations Manager for the Hyde Park Jazz Festival.
Jacob Wick is an improviser, writer, and artist. His work is dedicated to and informed by queer feelings and queer politics. As an improviser and trumpet player, he has performed in a variety of contexts, including at the Whitney Museum of American Art, the Kennedy Center, and the University Museum of Contemporary Art (MUAC). As a writer, he has published in print and online, including regular blog posts on Bad at Sports on the artists and art scenes in Los Angeles and Mexico City. As an artist, he has organized projects in Baltimore, Philadelphia, and the Bay Area.

"uuskhy" is the musical project of Joey Meland that examines a new augmented reality imposed by computational reliance; on upcoming album "COMPRESS ME" digital domination and transcendence is sonified via kinetic post-industrial sound design and vocal manipulation. Previous album "Drain the maker" (2018) spotlit a contentious relationship with his 'shadow self' through performative anonymity and a genre-collage of dream pop, UK bass, and harsh noise.
Jennifer Karmin’s multidisciplinary work has transpired at festivals, artist-run spaces, and on city streets across the U.S., Cuba, Japan, Kenya, and Europe. Her books include the text-sound epic Aaaaaaaaaaalice and The Sexual Organs of the IRS, a collaboration with Bernadette Mayer. She teaches creative writing to immigrants at Truman College and has been a Visiting Writer at Naropa University, Oberlin College, California Institute of the Arts, plus a myriad of sites. Since 2005, she has curated the Red Rover Series in Chicago and often led ensembles of poets improvising together.
